2004-05-05 :: 10:59 p.m. :: more weddingy stuff
just wrote an entry and lost it. in a nutshell: went to brian and carleigh's tonight. made his day, week, and maybe even month (he tells me) by letting him know i was engaged and being very very happy. talked weddingy stuff most of the evening, since i'm in the planning stages and they just got done 2 months ago. conclusions (potential, at least): scrap the party favors, scrap the receiving line, do all photography first but make sure you have a photographer there to catch the look on his face when he sees me for the first time that day, get some alone time - even if only 5 minutes - both before and after the ceremony, on the day, and strongly consider not coming back the next day. talked different hawaiian islands, too, which was fun. lots of good advice. had him walk me out to my car at the end and had a good older brother-y kind of moment where i told him how cool it is/will be to have him be a year ahead of me and be able to give me advice. called tim twice today. caught him once with the guys leaving the mets and giants game (rained out in the 6th inning) in new york city, and once again 20 minutes into his 25th birthday. got to be the first one to wish him happy birthday. miss him more and more each day, but am trying not to dwell on it. kept busy today, which helped. shopping and hanging out with mom. fun pink skirt at old navy. PINK. looked around at potential places to register. cost plus world market doesn't do registries, much to my disappointment, but we can spend cash gifts both there and at ikea, and do a basic registry at bed bath and beyond. or register at the latter and ikea, just for kicks. who knows? off to bed to read and sleep and dream of my man...
