2001-07-12 :: 4:29 p.m. :: catscapades my family has been through several cats during my lifetime. first came jonah, who we all thought was a he until 'he' had kittens. then came ziggy, in australia: a bright orange member of the highest royalty. or so he thought, anyway. next: ophelia, juliet, caesar, mcduff, hamlet (we kind of got stuck in a rut here!), and now peanut. i don't want to forget the bizarre things my cats do - there may come a time when i'm hard-up for laughs, and i have to have some sort of fallback plan, don't i? PEANUT:: okay, so now mcduff is out of the picture. my parents moved, and the temperamental cat (who'd taken to biting people) got unceremoniously left at the pound. enter peanut. MCDUFF:: 7/12/01 :: one of his absolute favorite things to do: 7/20/01. so i find out today my cat likes bread and pretzels. is that weird, or what? 7/21/01 :: don't you just love it when you get home from a hard day's work and your pet is so happy to see you he trips all over your feet? last night duff was so happy to see me that as soon as i lay down on my bed he sat himself on my chest with his head under my chin and purred like a steam engine. i love my cat! 7/23/01 :: so, we've got the whole outside thing going on now. about once a day he's let outside, but he doesn't get this 'sometimes we'll let you, sometimes we won't" thing. so he's taken to standing at the door and yelling 'ooooowwwwww' 'owwwwwww' which sounds suspiciously like 'out'. smart cat. 7/25/01 :: sitting on top of the computer and trying to chase flies. hmmmm. not a good combination, is it now? 8/3/01 :: i just don't understand why my owners don't want to get up at 5:30. i mean, it's light, the (yummy) birdies are chirping... i try really hard to nicely get them up - i sit on their chests and purr real loud, or try to massage their backs by walking all over them, but sometimes i just have to resort to swatting their faces. but they're pretty stubborn, these humans. |
